In my personal opinion, one of the nicest thing you can do is walk another person home. This doesn't happen much anymore because we all drive and live so far away that it isn't plausible. Just the concept, of walking another person all the way to their house and just to have to turn around and walk home alone, so you can be with them for those final extra minutes. And it's not something people did because they needed to or feel obliged but just simply because they wanted to. In a way, every kind or generous gesture is like that. For the minutes in which we do those nice things we put another person's happiness above our own. We make sacrifices that make the people we love happy. Sometimes we do it randomly or because doing something good makes us feel good. But the best and most selfless reasoning is doing something for another because their happiness and the making that sacrifice is worth it. After all that's said and done, we're all just walking each other home.
