I saw a post online about how Trump is just as bad as Voldemort... That got me thinking, because I never thought anyone could be as bad as He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named or Maleficent, etc. Because the villains (especially in fantasy or science fiction) are always so blood-chillingly bad, that it's difficult to relate. But what if, what if there are people out there JUST AS BAD AS, or maybe even WORSE than these villains? Maybe I've just been living in this small safety bubble, and I haven't truly ever seen the "bad" in this world. Makes me wonder, what if we're a story with 10% book villains, and 0% book heroes? No one is as good, perfect, and selfless as Harry Potter, or Percy Jackson (though if I close my eyes, sometimes I can delude myself into believing that he's real). It's a losing battle. Maybe that's why the world can never stay in peace– there's no true hero to defeat all of the bad guys.
