Week 14
I recently found out that my six times great-grandfather is buried in the catacombs in Paris. That's really cool and I feel like that would be sort of fun to visit but if you get lost you're hella dead.
Week 13
Nobody is ever neutral about my self-depricating humor. They either think that it's really funny and respond with something even more self-depricating or they look very concerned and say "That's really not funny you need help." Both are valid I guess.

It's sad how money completely rules this world. Here we are, supposedly the smartestbeings on the planet, and our lives are ruled by little pieces of paper. Are we really the smartest?

I told a pun to a person who hates puns and she said that she'll kill me. I've never felt so proud of myself in my life.

I was driving down the road, thinking about how much I hate winter and cold weather, when I saw an older man wearing only worn out jeans, sneakers, and a jacket walking to the grocery store in the blistering cold. It is unbelievable how lucky we can be without appreciating it.

I noticed that I have become really tired. Not like sleepy tired, but just tired of pretty much everything. Maybe it’s because I used up all of my energy in my freshman and sophomore year, when I was really jumpy and probably annoying. Now I am in a state of constantly wanting to sleep or lie down and not do anything for days. It’s gotten to the point where someone will do something like tell me a legitimately funny joke and I will say “Haha that is funny my dude” and then want to sleep for three days straight because of that one event. I wonder if this level of exhaustion is too much.

Was brushing my teeth when I realized a lady bug fell into the water. I stopped and tried to get it out, but it was already swept into the drain. Made me think about how a person close to another person doesn't realize they are in trouble until it is too late.

My sister dies and I'm upset, but then I wake up and am okay because I realize it was all a dream.
My sister dies in real life and yet I feel the same way, only after I die.

We are all capable of enormous resilience. Being yourself is definitely not easy, even though it should be. You are you. How difficult is that? But what I'm finding out more and more is that we all have to fight to be who we are. Whether you're struggling with expectations from others or with expectations from yourself, or whether life has made you reconsider exactly who you are, we are constantly battling for our true identities. Which is really amazing, because life only seems to try and wreck that identity more and more as you grow older: we get jealous of who other people are and want that for ourselves, an overwhelming expectation can get the better of us, we may have to give up who we are for the need to survive or for the better of others. It always gets tougher to fight for who you are, and we all know that, and yet somehow, we keep fighting. We keep ourselves intact and continue forward, never giving up on who we are. We are all capable of enormous resilience. I think you should credit yourself for that.

A disorganized thought that might turn into a story:
A small town in the woods that seems not to exist in the real world, simply a part of a timeless sense of tranquility. The trees seem more alive than anywhere else, and the people who live in ivy draped cottages smile at each other as they pass on the street. Is it possible to live suspended out of time?

Does stuff just go on infinitely? At one point we had no idea atoms existed. Then we knew atoms existed but not that protons did. Now we believe protons are made up of quarks. But what makes up that? We soon find out that everything is made of these tiny particles with mostly empty space in between, yet they form everything we see and feel. This stuff is pretty interesting.

It's very scary, how people need to lose something important to them in order to change their perspectives or beliefs. Thousands had to die in order for slaves to have a basic right: their freedom, a concept that really shouldn't be hard to grasp. It's scary how strongly we hold to our beliefs, and how we refuse to accept all else.

- People always complain that there aren't enough hours in the day. Well even if there were more hours we would probably waste them and then complain again.

Man is still savage in nature. We just have more sophisticated ways of killing and more polite ways of talking about it.
Victoria Lee Post 13
Good intentions aren't always the best way to go about others' lives. Sometimes, your good intentions just don't fit what other people need at the moment.
